When I booked my dive trip to Con Dao, I expected beautiful coral reefs. And don't get me wrong, they were amazing. But I discovered something on the Amadive dive list: **Diving a Sunken Wreck**. My pulse leaped. This was more than a standard dive; this was adventure into history.
I have to admit, I felt nervous. Diving a wreck requires extra care. But the crew at **Amadive** was fantastic. Their Divemasters gave us an excellent briefing. We covered safety protocols, the history of the sunken ship, and what to expect down there. The fact we were in a small group instantly made me feel comfortable.
Descending was unforgettable. At first, it's a dark shape in the blue, then suddenly the wreck came into view. It is massive. It's now a thriving artificial reef, draped in soft corals and swarming with fish. We saw giant groupers peeking from inside the cargo hold, and schools of fusiliers patrolling the superstructure. That feeling of gliding alongside this giant, silent vessel is indescribable—haunting, awe-inspiring, and humbling all at once. It truly is a piece of history on the seabed.
If click here you're an Open Water diver (or higher) coming to Con Dao and looking for an adventure more the usual reef dive, I urge you this **Con Dao wreck dive** highly enough. It was the unforgettable highlight of my Vietnam trip. A massive shout-out to the **Amadive Con Dao** team for their professionalism and for making this unforgettable experience so safe.
